I fondly remember monster hunter Rex Havoc from a magazine my dad brought me once when I was sick as a kid. Souvenir combines that memory with the biblical theme of Cain and Abel discussed in the 3rd annual Religion, Spirituality and the Arts seminar. The heroic Rex Havoc thus suggests pride in physical dominance, an outcome of the Fall of Man that is indicated by the yellow leaves, broken branch, and distressed squirrel in the inset image.

While an original composition, the drawing is copied from Abel Laxamana's frontispiece of the magazine Rex Havoc and the Raiders of the Fantastic; the inset image is a slightly enlarged photocopy of an album stamp by artist Bob Hines.
